NASA MUST Scholarship program, In order to be eligible for the merit-based NASA MUST scholarship, students must:
- Be a U.S. citizen from an underrepresented group (Women, African American, Hispanic American, Native American, and persons with disabilities)
- Reside in the U.S. or Puerto Rico
- Be studying at an accredited college or university in the U.S. or Puerto Rico for the upcoming academic year
- Be a rising freshman, sophomore, junior or transfer student enrolling in an accredited U.S. higher education institution as a full-time student
- Have earned and maintain a cumulative Grade Point Average of no less than 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Be pursuing a degree in science, technology, engineering or mathematics

Spend your summer in Washington, DC gaining real experience as a journalist!
The National Association of Hispanic Journalists and the National Association of Hispanic Publications Foundation are offers internships in which recent graduates and enrolled journalism and communications students will spend the summer of working at Spanish language publications or English-language Hispanic publications. A two-year fellowship geared toward an aspiring development professional at a civil rights or human rights organization. U.S. Embassy Summer Jobs
This internship program is a great way to get international experience and expose yourself to career fields you may never have considered. Please do not let any part of the application intimidate you! If you need help, that's my job to help you. It is completely doable! Also, the application states that you must pay for your own transportation to your job site. If that is a financial problem, still apply and we'll see how we can find you financial assistance.
Leadership Conference on Civil Rights Internship Program
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
The Leadership Conference on Civil Rights/Education Fund offers a substantive, fast-paced internship program designed to give people interested in public service and civil rights real-world work experience in the policy arena.
The program also provides interns the chance to increase their knowledge and awareness of civil and human rights issues, enhance their understanding of coalition politics, and observe and participate in the process of lobbying and the legislative process of our federal government.
The Leadership Conference's internship responsibilities include:
- writing articles for civilrights.org and the Civil Rights Monitor;
- attending steering committee and task force meetings as assigned;
- attending congressional hearings;
- doing on- and off-line research to support the Leadership Conference staff;
- occasional administrative work, including data entry and coordinating mailings.
Applicants should have strong writing skills, a desire and ability to work with diverse groups of people, ability to work collaboratively, high level of personal energy and commitment. Basic HTML a plus.

Grant money for public health students
Gates Foundation Expands Scholars Program

To target low-income and minority students seeking a graduate degree in public health.
The program has already given scholarships to more than 10,000 students for undergraduate education in their choice of major and for graduate work in public health, education, science, math, engineering and library science.
The United Negro College Fund (UNCF) is the administrator of the GMS initiative. To reach, coordinate, and support the constituent groups, UNCF has partnered with the American Indian Graduate Center Scholars (AIGCS), the Hispanic Scholarship Fund (HSF) and the Organization of Chinese Americans (OCA) to assist in implementing the initiative.
The scholarship money will be used to increase the number of minorities pursuing graduate degrees in epidemiology, biomedical science, tropical disease, public health practice and nutritional science.

Financial Aid for Non-Citizens
College-bound students who are not citizens or legal permanent residents of the United States are not eligible for State or federal financial assistance because of their immigration status. In addition, they are generally classified as international students and therefore are required to pay higher tuition and fees. However, the Mexican American Legal Defense and Education Fund (MALDEF), has compiled a list of scholarships that are open to undocumented students. Emma L. Bowen Foundation for Minority Interests in Media, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to create career opportunities in the media industry for traditionally underrepresented youths.

Hispanic Scholarships and Other Programs
The Hispanic Law Student Association at American University, Washington College of Law is proud to present the 2006 HLSA College Scholarship for Latino/o high school seniors and first-year and second-year college students in Washington, DC, Virginia, and Maryland.
The scholarships are awarded to students based upon, but not limited to, the following primary factors:
- Latino background;
- Demonstrated desire to attain a university education;
- Financial need;
- Demonstrated involvement in and commitment to serve the Latino community; and
- Academic and professional achievement

The White House Internship Program
The White House Internship Program offers an excellent opportunity to serve our President and explore public service. We are seeking exceptional candidates to apply for this highly competitive program. In addition to normal office duties, interns attend weekly lectures, tours, and complete an intern service project. Interns may serve a term in the Fall, Spring or Summer. All candidates must be at least 18 years of age, hold United States citizenship, and be enrolled in a college or university.
